BCD-Atlantik, a provider of future-proof complete solutions, will present the new, ultra-compact, multi-band Narroband (NB) -IoT module BC68 from Quectel, enabling many other Internet of Everything (IoE) applications to be realized.
The BC68 module is Quectel's third NB-IoT module which, thanks to NB-IoT technology, enables low-cost networking of numerous devices with low power requirements and high building penetration. It supports numerous frequency bands with B1 / B3 / B5 / B8 / B20 / B28 and can therefore be used worldwide.
The new module comes in the unified form factor of the GSM / GPRS module M66 and fits seamlessly into the migration line. A quick and easy changeover from GSM / GPRS to NB-IoT is thus quite simply possible.
Due to the small size of 17.7mm × 15.8mm × 2.3mm, the BC68 is ideally suited for small smart devices such as smart watches, smart meters or smart home systems (fire detectors, etc.), sensors for site monitoring of containers or stationary medical devices Devices with a very low energy requirement.
The extremely low power requirement (rest state: 6mA, PSM: 5uA) and the high sensitivity are two central features of the NB-IoT BC68 module. This module will provide up to 10 years of battery life for self-sufficient applications in the low-data rate IoT mode.
First samples and evaluation kits will be available at Atlantik Elektronik from November 2017 onwards.
